The original wood floors were kept and refinished to highlight their beauty and historic significance, as the wood came from the very property. The addition of high-end quartz countertops and a dedicated laundry room bring the home into the present day, while a dedicated garage provides modern convenience.

In its heyday, Winbelle was always bustling with activity, hosting events such as bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, and even a travel abroad party. Kathryn Belle decorated the home for every occasion, even for President's Day and St. Patrick's Day, and Christmas was a particularly special time, with hand-sewn stockings and staircases filled with smiling faces. Guests at Winbelle included traveling preachers and missionaries, and relatives passing through for family reunions.

Winston was a successful businessman, owning service stations and working as a distributor for the American Oil Company. Kathryn Belle was an accomplished pianist and violinist, teaching music and playing at Salem Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames, among other organizations. Winbelle was not just a home, it was a place of love and care for family members in their later years, including Kathryn Belle's mother Alma and several aunts.
